A voice guide your team will open.

Four people describe your company four ways, and every new piece of copy begins as an argument. We write down who you are for, what you say and how you sound, in a guide short enough to be used.

How this service works

  • We read what you have now: site, decks, emails, sales calls if recorded.
  • A workshop, by call or written brief, to pin down who you serve and what you say.
  • We draft the guide with examples taken from your own copy.
  • You and your team comment. Two rounds.
  • Final guide, and the homepage rewrite if you chose it.

Spec rewrite

Spec rewrite: sample copy written by us to show our process. Not client work.

Before

Our brand voice is friendly, professional, innovative and approachable.

After

We sound like a good mechanic: plain, specific, a little dry. Say "your brakes need replacing". Don't say "we noticed a potential concern with your braking system".

The company described is fictional.

Short, specific and full of examples, so people use it.

Questions about brand messaging

How long is the guide?

Short enough to read in one sitting: usually 8 to 15 pages, mostly examples. We tell you the plan before drafting.

Do you do logos or visual branding?

No. This is words only: what you say and how you sound.

Does it need a workshop call?

The workshop can be a call or a written brief, whichever your team prefers. A call tends to be faster for larger teams.

Can my whole team give input?

Yes. Two revision rounds can combine comments from several people. Send them together so the rounds don't fragment.

What if we don't know our positioning yet?

That is what the workshop is for. We help you decide, and write down the decision.

Write it down once. Stop arguing about the first line.
